Phoenar

The Phoenar are the last remaining humans in the Koda Sector. They wage an eternal war against the Lomarda who seek to destroy the Phoenar to the last, and the Phoenar shall fight them to their bitter end. They are not a united race, but one unfortunately scattered and broken throughout the sector. The Phoenar live in cities known as Strongholds, and each is governed by a council made up of the Minister of War who ensure every soldier is well armed, well fed and willing to fight and die for the Phoenar; the Minister of Diplomacy, who heads the Ministry of Diplomacy which uses officials to negotiate with the other races, although they will never work with the Lomarda unless in the direst of circumstances; the Minister of Civil Affairs, who makes sure roads and buildings are well maintained and that the civilians have enough food, water and power to go about their day-to-day lives, and that civilian shelters are well maintained and supplied in case they are ever needed; and the Prime Minister, who is in charge of the Stronghold and ensures inter-ministerial co-operation and declares wars, emergencies, holidays and can remove any minister that have proven to be incompetent. The military of the Phoenar is made up of several different types of infantry platoons, from the lowly grunt to the elite Korzahk, which are supported by tank destroyers and mobile rocket artillery batteries. Each force, known as a combat group, is led by a major, and made up of platoons of grunts backed by platoons of heavy weapons and Korzahks in an Infantry Combat Group, Korzahks supporting tank hunters and Cruiser Battle Tanks in an Armoured/Mechanised Combat Group, or a few grunt platoons working with Mitsachor Rocket Artillery units in an Artillery Support Combat Group. The most common Combat Group is the Combined Combat Group which consists of Korzahk squads and Grunt and Heavy Weapon Platoons working with Tank Destroyers and Battle Tanks with support from artillery batteries. Their most commonly used weapon is the Bejuin Rifle, an easily produced semi-automatic rifle. Squad leaders, platoon leaders and some selected soldiers may be equipped with Autorifles, short ranged sub-machine guns which has the highest rate of fire of all the light infantry weapons, but also has the shortest range. This is the basic weapon used by the Korzahks. Officers, Commissars and Korzahks are often seen using Vashat assault rifles, which has a lower rate of fire than the Autorifle, but has better range and can inflict wounds more easily. Heavy weapons used by the Phoenar are the machine gun and mortar, which are most commonly used by Heavy Weapon Platoons to support advancing Grunts or to hold off invaders. Korzahks are known to make use of sniper rifles, and it is not uncommon for a Grunt squad to have an anti-tank rifle, especially in Infantry Combat Groups where it may be impractical to find an Armoured Combat Group to neutralise enemy armour. Their Tank Destroyers make use of 100mm cannons, which are more than capable at tearing through the rear or side armour on an enemy vehicle, and Rocket Artillery, which are used to give support to infantry units by blindly firing where they believe the enemy is located in the hope of destroying any and all enemy units. They are also mounted on static Defence Batteries in Strongholds to give long range support to Phoenar units trying to hold off attackers. Phoenar civilians live constantly aware of what the Lomarda wish to do, but live in hope; hoping that peace might come in some way, and that they might get to survive another day.
